Italy has become a red zone . In the last few hours, regional and national decrees have been harsh and very restrictive. First, schools and universities were closed, then public offices, and gradually only supermarkets remained open . The number of infections in Italy is rising rapidly, and the government's orders are very simple: we must stay home ! Many have found themselves and continue to find themselves in crisis during this emergency. They have had to adopt measures and methods to continue working, ones they were not accustomed to.

How does the training react?

The ordinance is clear. Education will remain suspended until April 3. But can education really be stopped? No! In 2015, the National Digital School Plan , introduced with " La Buona Scuola ," laid out some guidelines for building the education system of the future, introducing activities, new methods, and approaches for tomorrow's teaching. The plan therefore concerns not only the use of technology, but also, and above all, a cultural and systemic action. We have never been accustomed to this, nor even "educated." In this emergency situation, it was inevitable. Some have begun to equip themselves with tools for videoconferencing and exchanging assignments via email, but that's not enough. The actual e-learning system requires the use of real infrastructures capable of recreating virtual classrooms . But it is precisely in this direction that the Ministry of Education appears to be moving, having already set up a support page for distance learning . This section provides access to cooperation tools, best practice exchanges, and school twinning programs, as well as training webinars, multimedia study materials, and certified platforms.

Smart Working

In this emergency situation, the Decree establishes “the agile working method governed by Articles 18 to 23 of Law No. 81 of 22 May 2017, may be applied, for the duration of the state of emergency referred to in the resolution of the Council of Ministers of 31 January 2020, by employers to any subordinate employment relationship, in compliance with the principles set out in the aforementioned provisions, even in the absence of the individual agreements provided for therein."In some sectors, such a situation has been almost unacceptable and this is due to the poor digitalization of people. But many companies working in the web and digital world had never experienced the smart workingHere are some tips for making the most of smart working:

– set goals and give yourself deadlines;
– take breaks every two hours;
– be in a relaxed and comfortable environment to promote concentration.

Crowdfunding

Crowdfunding is a collaborative process in which a group of people use their own money to support an idea , turning it into a concrete and feasible project. Many organizations have launched fundraising campaigns to support Italian hospitals during the current emergency. The most important of these, the #IoRestoaCasa fundraiser , was created with the aim of raising donations that will be entirely donated to the Civil Protection Department, as directed by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, thus giving everyone the opportunity to do their part. Chiara Ferragni and Fedez , with a personal donation of €100,000, have launched a fundraising campaign on the Gofundme crowdfunding platform to support the intensive care units at San Raffaele Hospital, part of the San Donato Group. The fundraising will go towards creating new beds in the hospital's intensive care unit. These beds are essential to address the Coronavirus health emergency and provide free medical care and assistance to patients in need. Dolce & Gabbana funded a research project developed by Humanitas University in collaboration with virologists at Milan's San Raffaele Hospital; Bulgari and Etro also donated to the virology departments, while Giorgio Armani allocated €1.25 million to the Sacco, San Raffaele, and Spallanzani hospitals.

Social and e-commerce

Following the order closing various businesses and other large chains, they're adhering to the #iorestoacasa (staying at home) movement. Many of these are increasing their social media engagement through Instagram stories and the various hashtags #restaacasa and #iorestoacasa, #abbraccidigitali (digital hugs), and many others. Brands are also taking part in various Instagram challenges and offering free shipping on online orders. Various campaigns have been launched to encourage Italians to stay home, such as those by Luca De Matteis for Sega, Lego, Star, Durex, Pegaut, Agos, L'Oreal, Fabuloso, Motta, Vans, Dyson, Ikea, and Dove.

In light of all this, we hope this period will pass soon. On a positive note, we can say that Italy has found itself dragged into a dimension it wasn't yet fully comfortable with: the digital dimension. We are addressing these past shortcomings out of necessity. But we hope that the forced digitalization of recent times can serve as an example and continue to develop. Forza Italia!
