This October, various universities and departments are offering many online events. We'd like to highlight two of them.

Sustainable Development

On October 5th, as part of the Sustainable Development Festival 2020 an online event entitled “Culture, Change, Development. What future challenges lie ahead for the eco-sustainability of digital society?“. It will present Vol. 5(1) – Culture, change, development of the magazine Culture e Studi del Sociale edited by Uliano Conti and Rosanna Memoli. Professors Giovanni Boccia Artieri, Giorgia Iovino, Simona Totaforti, Massimiliano Bencardino, Paolo Corvo will discuss with the authors.
The event is curated and organized by Department of Political Sciences and Communication (DiSPC-POLICOM) of SalernoSpecifically, from two internal structures of the latter, which are the Observatory for Territorial Development and the Cultural Change, Inequalities and Sustainable Development International Network.

Sustainable Development Festival 2020

First details

The volume aims to demonstrate how, in the current context, a sustainable approach is necessary that follows three pillars: culture, change, and development. This is done through the analysis of different Goals in relation to current development and by proposing a sustainable and cultural development model. The proposed presentation, however, focuses on the specific analysis of three SDGs, also taking into account the speakers' specific expertise:

  • Business, innovation and infrastructure (impact of new technologies on life, the environment and production).
  • Sustainable Cities and Communities (smart cities and urban sustainability)
  • Responsible consumption and production (sustainable tourism and territorial development) are highly topical issues in the debate at other forums, such as "Inequalities and Diversity." 
    While the presentation will focus on these three specific Goals, it will also touch upon other objectives of Agenda 2030 in a transversal manner.

Sociology of Work

Sociologia del Lavoro, a journal dedicated to the issues of work and its transformations with a sociological approach and an international interdisciplinary perspective, is promoting the " Sociology of Work Days ." This series of three webinars is sponsored by the Department of Philosophy, Sociology, Education, and Applied Psychology of the University of Padua in collaboration with the journal.
